Do more than recycle.
Please bear in mind the following information:
Opt for reusable bags when you shop. Single-use plastic bags originate from fossil fuels and ultimately become waste in landfills or incinerators, emitting powerful greenhouse gases like CO2 and methane. This process warms our planet and contributes to climate change.
Single-use plastic bags also pose a severe threat to marine life. Birds, turtles, and fish often mistake shredded plastic bags for food, leading to the ingestion of toxic debris.
Additionally, people consume microplastics through food and air. It’s estimated that globally, individuals ingest the equivalent of a credit card's worth of plastic every week. It is predicted that there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050.
